Investor COPRO has leased nearly 200 square meters in the renovated Kaiserbau building to the interdisciplinary design and communications agency GfG / Gruppe für Gestaltung GmbH. This means all spaces in the building on the popular Marienplatz in Stuttgart-South are now occupied.
Before handover in December, COPRO will work with the new tenants to design the loft-style spaces to perfectly meet their individual requirements. These spaces were offered as commercial units for the first time. "We are delighted to welcome GfG. They contribute to an exciting tenant mix in the Kaiserbau, which also enables synergies," says Antje Kimmich, Managing Director of AK ImmobilienServices, which brokered the office space to GfG / Gruppe für Gestaltung on behalf of COPRO. In addition to GfG / Gruppe für Gestaltung GmbH, the Kaiserbau building is also home to businesses such as the yoga studio YOGA13, the pizzeria L.A. Signorina, and the IT specialists KI Business Performance GmbH.
Guided by the design principle "iD/2D/3D," GfG, headquartered in Bremen, develops projects from ideation and conception to realization in interdisciplinary teams. At its Stuttgart location, an ideas workshop with flexible furniture is being created to provide space for workshops. "For our creative processes, we need spaces where ideas and creativity can flourish freely. The open workspace in the Kaiserbau is ideal for this," notes Carsten Dempewolf of GfG / Gruppe für Gestaltung GmbH.
The Kaiserbau, dating from 1911, was modernized by COPRO while respecting its historical character. With the completion of the first construction phase in 2015, a contemporary yet historically sensitive mixed-use building with 40 residential units and ten commercial units was created on a total usable area of approximately 6,350 square meters. "The Kaiserbau is the central attraction on Marienplatz," says Antje Kimmich. "Through a diverse range of restaurants and shops, we have been able to bring the open atmosphere and urban lifestyle of the square into the Kaiserbau."
