COPRO initiates Art Exhibitions on Alexanderstrasse

Stuttgart, December 6, 2018 – On Friday, December 7, 2018, a double exhibition will open on Alexanderstrasse, offering visitors the opportunity to experience art up close in the heart of Stuttgart: Real estate developer COPRO is providing the exterior wall of the building at Alexanderstrasse 53 for the artwork FAL and the space of the property at Alexanderstrasse 141 for the opening of the exhibition CUT. The artistic realization is the work of Benjamin Gräbner, a scholarship recipient of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's artist support program and an artist at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design.

Alexanderstrasse 53: Artwork expands the perspective

Visitors have been able to discover the artwork FAL on the retaining wall of the building at Alexanderstrasse 53 since the end of August. COPRO acquired the centrally located residential and commercial building in July 2017. Over several weeks, Benjamin Gräbner painstakingly carved a striking image into the retaining wall of the building that separates the courtyard and parking area from the neighboring property. "The artwork is based on the idea of creating a connection between structure and support, thereby fostering a holistic view of the relationship between architecture and art. It is particularly effective after nightfall, as the changing light allows all facets of the pictorial relief to be perceived," explains Antje Kimmich, Managing Director of COPRO Supply GmbH. Therefore, the official unveiling of the artwork, with Benjamin Gräbner in attendance, will take place on Friday evening, February 7, 2018, between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public.

The artwork is presented by the public.

Alexanderstrasse 141: Opening Represents Theater, Painting, and Sculpture

Following the inauguration of FAL, the opening of the exhibition CUT, curated by Benjamin Gräbner, will take place at Alexanderstrasse 141. COPRO is undertaking a comprehensive renovation of the building, which was most recently used for commercial purposes, and will transform it into a residential building with eleven units. Before the property is expected to be completed in early 2020, COPRO is currently using the renovation phase to showcase artworks from the fields of theater, stage design, and sculpture. In addition to Benjamin Gräbner, other artists from the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design (ABK Stuttgart), the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts (HfBK Dresden), and the Baden-Württemberg Academy of Fine Arts (ADK Baden-Württemberg) invite visitors to this interdisciplinary group exhibition. The exhibition is open to the public free of charge on December 11 and 13, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Furthermore, interested visitors can arrange a viewing with the artists directly between December 7th and December 14th, 2018.

25 Years of expertise in real estate and art

A total of approximately 50 to 150 guests are expected at the public events. In addition to the participating artists, COPRO's management will be represented by Antje Kimmich. Since 1993, COPRO has been realizing sophisticated real estate projects, placing particular emphasis on supporting local artists in its properties. Besides the current art exhibitions on Alexanderstrasse, COPRO has previously collaborated with the artist Christian Awe and the Filderfreunde Möhringen artists' association on art exhibitions. In Berlin, COPRO also successfully presented the exhibition "No Place / Like Home" in the Gründerzeit-era GLINT complex this spring, under the artistic direction of Rüdiger Lange and organized by Stuttgart gallerist Michael Sturm.
