Musical highlight at Gleisdreieck

COPRO Celebrates a special house Concert with the Karajan Academy

The Urbane Mitte team and COPRO enjoyed a musical and culinary highlight just one day before the traditional Bergmannstraße Festival in Kreuzberg on June 30, 2017. At the Urbane Mitte site near "Park am Gleisdreieck," COPRO, together with young musicians from the Berlin Philharmonic, hosted a house concert in a lively atmosphere. In addition to classical works by Franz Schubert and Kurt Weill, the approximately 100 guests also enjoyed impressionistic pieces by composers Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel. The artistic experience took place in the container brewhouse of the BRLO craft brewery, which is being provided with the space at Urbane Mitte by COPRO as part of its pioneering use program. This cultural and gastronomic pioneering use makes the site accessible to the public even before construction begins. The building was designed by the Berlin-based architectural trio GRAFT.

Since the opening of the "BLRO BRWHOUSE" in October 2016, the site has seen significant development. The innovative brewery is a popular meeting place for Berliners and tourists alike, offering a chance to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy some relaxation. The vision of a vibrant urban quarter in the heart of Berlin is thus beginning to take shape. To ensure that this diverse range of uses and the spirit of freedom, creativity, and variety continue to thrive in this location, both now and in the future, COPRO is passionately committed to supporting cultural and artistic projects, as demonstrated this evening.

Marc F. Kimmich, founder and managing partner of COPRO, and the entire Urbane Mitte team are well on their way to instilling a creative spirit in this innovative area for the long term. “With this house concert, we want to thank everyone involved in the Urbane Mitte am Gleisdreieck project for their successful collaboration so far. We are extremely pleased with the positive development of the project and are delighted that we were able to secure the Karajan Artists for an inspiring performance this evening.”

The guests were visibly thrilled by the musical performance. For Peter Riegelbauer, Managing Director of the Karajan Academy, the concert was also a special event. “It was a wonderful evening, characterized by harmonious sounds for mind and senses. We thoroughly enjoyed enriching this unique location in Berlin with chamber music.”

The Urbane Mitte am Gleisdreieck team consists of approximately 140 project participants who are motivated to drive the project forward every day. These include planners, representatives from the district and the Senate, consultants, neighbors, project developers, legal and tax advisors, technical and commercial project managers, and communications experts.
