Berlin, October 6, 2025 – The COPRO Group, a renowned developer and owner of real estate, is repositioning itself for the future. With a clearly structured generational change within the founding family and a targeted expansion of its business areas, the company is strengthening its market position and laying the foundation for further growth.
As part of a succession plan prepared over the long term, COPRO AG has transferred its subsidiary, COPRO Immobilienmanagement GmbH, to Marc Julius Kimmich.
“Taking over our property management is an important step and gives Marc Julius Kimmich the opportunity to continue developing the established company independently—with innovative technology and targeted acquisition. At the same time, COPRO Immobilienmanagement will remain responsible for managing our own portfolio in Berlin and Stuttgart. Our close cooperation will therefore continue,” explains Karsten Baurschmidt, CEO of COPRO AG.
Marc Julius Kimmich, son of company founder Marc F. Kimmich, gained several years of experience in the real estate industry after completing his Master’s in Real Estate Development at IE Business School in Madrid. In his previous role as Commercial Director of COPRO Immobilienmanagement GmbH, he was thoroughly prepared for his new responsibilities.
With this handover, COPRO AG is continuing its restructuring. Antje Striebel-Kimmich, who has held leadership positions within the group for over 30 years, has stepped down from her roles as a member of the Executive Board of COPRO AG and as Managing Director of COPRO Immobilienmanagement GmbH.
“Antje Striebel-Kimmich has decisively shaped COPRO’s identity for decades and contributed greatly to the company’s success with her dedication. We extend our heartfelt thanks to her,” emphasizes Marc F. Kimmich, founder of COPRO and member of the Supervisory Board.
Since early 2024, Karsten Baurschmidt has served as CEO with overall responsibility for COPRO AG and also heads the founding family’s family office. He is supported by an experienced Supervisory Board chaired by Nils Erichsen, with members Marc F. Kimmich and Ansgar Oberholz. Together, they are driving the company’s strategic development and guiding the expansion into new business areas.
The COPRO Group is pursuing targeted growth: it is expanding its portfolio in the metropolitan regions of Berlin and now Leipzig, while simultaneously strengthening its position as a service developer. In a challenging market environment, the company benefits from many years of experience and a deep network in the real estate sector. As a result, COPRO is well positioned to inject fresh momentum into project development and unlock sustainable growth potential.
