HENSOLDT moves into last vacant office space in COPRO's revitalized city palace

Berlin, March 9, 2017 – Real estate investor and developer COPRO has leased the last vacant office space in the revitalized Voßpalais at Voßstraße 33 in Berlin-Mitte to HENSOLDT (formerly a division of the Airbus Group). This means that all space in the building in the heart of Berlin is now fully occupied.

The city palace, a listed building dating back to 1886, has been part of the joint portfolio of COPRO and private investors since 2009. It was comprehensively revitalized and expanded in cooperation with Axthelm Rolvien Architects and in close collaboration with the local and regional heritage preservation authorities. A key objective was to both honor the building's historical significance and ensure its preservation through its new use. Thanks to COPRO's careful approach and years of expertise in this field, the historical fabric of the building was preserved.

Integrating History into a new environment

"The Voßpalais is one of the few remaining historic buildings in the vicinity of Potsdamer Platz and Leipziger Platz, and the only surviving 19th-century building on Voßstraße," explains Marc F. Kimmich, Managing Partner of COPRO. "By integrating it into a modern setting, we were able to breathe new life into this unique historical building." With its red sandstone facade and Renaissance sculptural elements, it forms an attractive contrast to the new buildings at Leipziger Platz and Potsdamer Platz.

Today, the property offers approximately 1,900 square meters of modern office space in the newly constructed side wing and the existing building. Tenants include HENSOLDT, 3A Partnerschaftsgesellschaft mbB, MaibornWolff GmbH, and meplato GmbH. A further 900 square meters are leased to fashion retailers integrated into the Mall of Berlin shopping center.
