The 50th Jelbi location has just opened in the COPRO parking garage at Gleisdreieck. COPRO project manager David Hennig and COPRO managing director Liza Marie Kil welcomed the project partners Jelbi, mobileeee, and the Agency for Electromobility (eMO). David Hennig emphasized that this sustainable concept is playing a pioneering role for parking garages in Berlin. Michael Bartnik from Jelbi: “Our 50th Jelbi station is located on the south side of the parking garage near the Gleisdreieck subway station. The Jelbi Point is on the north side near the Mendelssohn-Bartholdy-Park subway station. Both locations for rental bikes, scooters, and mopeds are situated in front of the parking garage. Parking spaces and charging stations for stationary and flexible e-car sharing are available inside the parking garage, directly at the exit.”

Smart Mobility at Berlin's Gleisdreieck
COPRO Project Manager David Hennig: "Mobility hubs like this one at Gleisdreieck have the potential to get more people onto the rails or into public transport. If different sharing options are available at the hub, the likelihood increases that someone will choose a bicycle or a shared vehicle instead of their own car – and that means one less private vehicle on the road. Smart Mobility, however, doesn't just mean that people can (even spontaneously) travel using the mode of transport that appeals to them most. It also means that they can plan this choice well in advance. For this to happen, they need to be able to conveniently access digital services at any time using their smartphone or other devices. Jelbi can build directly on this and offers a wide range of usage options easily accessible via an app." The parking garage with around 700 spaces is to be gradually transformed into an inner-city mobility and micro-logistics hub.
Hennig adds: "The COPRO Group is an independent site developer and, as part of the development of the Urban Center Am Gleisdreieck, also the operator of this Gleisdreieck parking garage. Our goal is clearly to take a pioneering role, to shape the mobility transition, and to try out new ideas. We are very pleased to be able to open another Jelbi station and Jelbi point here with the Berlin public transport company (BVG). This is an important step towards a city of short distances and thus a clear signal for an ecological transport transition. We would like to thank them for choosing this location and for our excellent partnership. The partners are extremely satisfied with the new location." Martin Sölle from the Berlin Agency for Electromobility (eMO) says: "I am very pleased that, after two years of preparation, this first building block has been opened – the parking garage of the future. As the official state agency, we welcome the fact that electromobility has been concentrated and centrally located at Gleisdreieckpark in Mitte. We see this as a blueprint for locating such a project at a parking garage. This is also part of the mobility landscape of the future." Mobility partner Jelbi is contributing the mobility app for public transport and sharing services, thus bundling various sharing options such as cars, bikes, and scooters. Anja Bollhof from Mobileeee: "As a station-based, zero-emission carsharing company, the partnership with Jelbi and COPRO means a lot to us because it allows us to actively participate in the transport revolution."
