Berlin, April 19, 2018 – With the start of Berlin Gallery Weekend, a special group exhibition opens in the historic GLINT building complex: From April 27 to May 12, visitors can discover the art exhibition "No Place / Like Home" on the first floor of the Gründerzeit-era building at the corner of Glinka and Taubenstrasse in Berlin-Mitte.
The exhibition brings together two ideas across 450 square meters: The "No Place" project was founded last year at Art Lima in a historic building in Peru by the galleries Arroniz Arte Contemporaneo, Mexico; NF/NIEVES FERNANDEZ, Spain; Galeria Nueveochenta, Colombia; and Galerie Michael Sturm, Germany. This collaboration is now being continued for the second time in Berlin under the name "No Place."
Berlin-based curator Rüdiger Lange (loop raum für aktuelle kunst) recently brought light art to GLINT's premises in September 2017 with the highly acclaimed group exhibition "Standard International #4 Spatial Clearings." With "Like Home," he now showcases the diversity of international influences on local art in Berlin—exemplified by works from artists with strong ties to Latin America and Berlin.
The exhibition "No Place / Like Home" is conceived as a temporary fusion of two independent formats. The focus is on the dialogue between art, culture, and architecture. "We are delighted to offer this platform to the art exhibition 'No Place / Like Home.' At GLINT, with its unique atmosphere, international galleries and Berlin-based artists can engage in dialogue," says Marc F. Kimmich, art enthusiast and board member of COPRO AG. "The historic GLINT building provides the perfect contrast to this cultural exchange."
