Berlin, Stuttgart, September 20, 2023 – Now in the 31st year of its corporate history, the COPRO Group—founded by Marc F. Kimmich in 1993—continues to focus on innovation and partnerships. Most of the group’s projects and properties, headquartered in Berlin and Stuttgart, fall into the category of landmark real estate: striking examples include the GLINT Wilhelminian ensemble in the government district (to be handed over to its first owners at the end of October), the Voßpalais in Berlin-Mitte, the Imperial Post Office in Berlin-Zehlendorf, GEISBERG in Berlin (awarded DGNB Gold), as well as LLOYD House and Kaiserbau in Stuttgart. All developments are defined by high standards, particularly with respect to heritage conservation and architecture. Today, COPRO is among the recognized specialists for listed buildings.
The most prominent urban development project is the Urbane Mitte am Gleisdreieck district initiated by COPRO, which was classified by the Berlin Senate as a “project of citywide significance.” In terms of its multi-stage participation process, it is also considered a blueprint for voluntary, early citizen involvement. The pioneer uses at this location—B-Part, BRLO, St. Oberholz, and JULES—feature contemporary concepts that reflect social trends. With B-Part, a temporary timber building, COPRO demonstrates both its timber construction expertise and the practicality of renewable natural materials in the building process. Diverse cultural and sports offerings, as well as a multifunctional work and event platform directly at Gleisdreieck Park, have made B-Part an urban meeting place. The Urban Ideation Lab, initiated by COPRO and integrated into B-Part, has provided important impetus for the district’s development as a think tank for the neighborhood of the future.
International attention was garnered by the “Parking Garage of the Future” at Gleisdreieck, developed with partners such as Tesla and TotalEnergies, which has become a model far beyond Berlin. Here, COPRO converted an existing property into a digital mobility hub. Most recently, Schloss Roseck near Tübingen—another listed heritage site—was acquired for development. COPRO has also realized two rural projects with partners St. Oberholz and Projekt June, redefining the concept of remote work.
Antje Kimmich, Managing Director of COPRO Beteiligungs GmbH:
“With carefully selected projects we intend to continue contributing to innovative and sustainable construction. To this end, we will invest in exceptional existing properties in order to develop, manage, and convert them to modern, future-proof uses.”
The ISO 9001–certified companies COPRO Projektentwicklung (CPE) and COPRO Immobilienmanagement (CIM) remain on a growth trajectory. CIM is continuously expanding its third-party service capacity in facility, property, and asset management. From the very beginning, COPRO has been committed to corporate social responsibility. Projects such as the Karajan Academy and El Colegio del Cuerpo (Colombia)—the international dance school for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds—are matters of personal importance to Marc and Antje Kimmich.
With around 30 employees, the company is a co-founder of the non-profit association “Diversity in Architecture”, whose overarching goal is to promote diversity in the field of architecture. As a first step, the international, biennial divia award—presented for the first time in 2023—was established to make the achievements of women in architecture more visible.About COPRO
