Exhibition success “No Place / Like Home”

Latin American Art at GLINT on the Occasion of Gallery Weekend 2018

Since the start of Berlin Gallery Weekend on April 27, 2018, art lovers had the opportunity to discover the art exhibition “No Place / Like Home” on the first floor of the historic Gründerzeit-era GLINT building at the corner of Glinkastrasse and Taubenstrasse in Berlin-Mitte until May 12, 2018.

... Spanning 450 square meters, two exhibitions uniquely united the local and the global: Under the banner of shared interests, the galleries Arróniz Arte Contemporáneo (Mexico City), Michael Sturm (Stuttgart), NF / NIEVES FERNÁNDEZ (Madrid), and Nueveochenta (Bogotá) joined forces in April 2017 for a collaborative art project entitled "No Place" in historic spaces as part of Art Lima (Peru). This collaboration continued in Berlin under the same title. Simultaneously, Berlin curator Rüdiger Lange presented "Like Home," showcasing the diversity of international influences on Berlin's art scene – exemplified by works from artists with strong ties to Latin America and Berlin.

"No Place / Like Home" thus conceived as a fusion of two independent formats, fostering a dialogue between the participating galleries and international artists. The historic GLINT building provided ample space for this concept to unfold.

Artists in the exhibition:

No Place: Sven Braun, Mauro Giaconi, Omar Rodríguez-Graham, Juan Fernando Herrán, Fritzia Irizar, Russell Maltz, Kevin Simón Mancera, Moris, Pipo Hernández Rivero

Like Home: Gonzalo Reyes Araos, Carla Bertone, Isabelle Borges, Pablo Griss, Carla Guagliardi, Birgit Hölmer, Franz Küsters, Maria Muñoz, Francisco Rozas, Carlos Silva, Alejandro Stein
