Exhibition opening at B-Part: Portrait of a Birch – Martin Binder

INVITATION | Exhibition Opening | Oct 26, 2023 | B–Part am Gleisdreieck

COPRO is pleased to announce another exhibition by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e.V. in cooperation with @B-Part Exhibition:

Portrait of a Birch
Martin Binder

Opening: Thu, 26.10.2023, 6 pm
Exhibition: 27.10 – 02.12.2023
Wednesday to Saturday, 2–6 pm

About the exhibition:
“Portrait of a Birch” stands for a cautious, almost vanishing new beginning after humans aggressively manipulated the ecosystem, injuring nature and naturalness. With great poetic force and sophisticated material experimentation, the portrait tells of a stolen identity and transforms the relationship between assertion, authenticity, and intervention into a radically contemporary, politically charged work of art.

About the artist:
Martin Binder is a EHF2010 fellow of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e.V. for 2023/2024.
He is among the visual artists who respond to the multi-complex sociopolitical situation with interdisciplinary strategies and are unafraid to pose essential questions about culture and nature, surface and substance, ultimately life and death. His works are mostly site-specific, yet also stand confidently on their own in newly created contexts. In formal dissolution, Binder uses the latest technological possibilities and interweaves them with astonishing craftsmanship. Nevertheless, the works never slip into sweet idylls content with their own beauty and virtuosity—on the contrary, threat, destruction, and death resonate within them.

As a long-standing supporter of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s EHF2010 fund, COPRO thanks Dr. Hans-Jörg Clement (Head of Culture and Curator at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung) and our long-trusted curator Rüdiger Lange for making this wonderful exhibition possible in the B-Part Exhibition format.
