COPRO Converts commercial building into residential space

Stuttgart, June 19, 2018 – Following the purchase of the mixed-use building at Alexanderstrasse 53 in July 2017, COPRO has acquired another property on this centrally located street. The commercial building at Alexanderstrasse 141 will undergo a comprehensive renovation by the real estate developer and investor and be converted into a residential building with eleven units.

Modern living in the heart of the City

The property, originally built in 1923 and expanded in 1929, is situated on the border between the culturally and historically significant Stuttgart-Mitte district and the inner-city district of Stuttgart-Süd. It is located in close proximity to the Lehenviertel neighborhood, whose streets are listed as historical monuments and are among the most architecturally interesting in Stuttgart. The building is being developed and revitalized by COPRO. As part of the construction project, the real estate developer has commissioned the Stuttgart-based architectural firm Sindlinger + Vogt with the planning and implementation. COPRO is adding an extra floor to the former commercial building and upgrading the existing structure with an elevator. The eleven planned rental apartments will each range in size from 24 to 173 square meters.

"The acquisition of the property at Alexanderstrasse 141 underscores the potential we see in this sought-after location in Stuttgart. Our goal is to sustainably enhance the property's quality and create new living space in the heart of the city," explains Marc F. Kimmich, founder and CEO of COPRO AG.

The building is intended to remain in COPRO's portfolio long-term. The aim is to complete the project by early 2020.
