To kick off Berlin Art Week, the event series “Good to Talk – 46 Hours in Conversation” celebrated the spoken word with lectures, discussions, performances, and audience interaction.
“Good to Talk – 46 Hours in Conversation” is an open initiative by 20 Berlin galleries dedicated to the spoken word about art in all its facets. The event took place from September 8 to 10, 2017, at the Kantine am Berghain – supported by COPRO.
For 46 hours nonstop, the initiative celebrated the spoken word in its many forms of expression – in monologue or discussion, spoken or sung, informative or entertaining. A variety of performances, musical pieces, dances, and audience interactions enriched the artistic conversations, lectures, and panel discussions in German and English.
20 galleries, 50 events, 200 participants – with this program, the initiative addresses current issues in art and brings together international artists with politicians, academics, and art enthusiasts. The talk marathon thus creates unusual encounters, surprising perspectives, and provides fresh food for thought. "The dialogue and exchange about art and art-related topics have developed an incredible dynamic," summarize participants Anne Schwanz and Johanna Neushäffer from EIGEN + ART Lab. They emphasize that "Good to Talk" is an important and exciting format for Berlin that promotes the dissemination of art in the broadest sense.
Marc F. Kimmich, art lover and founder and managing partner of COPRO, sees supporting "Good to Talk" as part of the company's philosophy: "We support 'Good to Talk's' commitment to the art world and international exchange because it aligns with our vision of making art accessible."
