Opening reception on August 25, 2022
Architecture is a central motif in the oeuvre of Berlin-based artist Zora Jankovic. In her new exhibition, KOMPAKT, curator Rüdiger Lange presents sculptures and photographs by the artist at B-Part Exhibition. These works are characterized by asymmetrical compositions and cubic forms that defined the International Style and, consequently, the entire architecture of modernism.
Jankovic plays with lines and angles, breaks and continuities, which the sculptures incorporate into their interplay of light and shadow. This is further emphasized by the use of solid materials such as concrete, steel, and marble, whose varying colors and surface contrasts suggest a tension between aesthetics and functionality.
This marks the second consecutive year that artist Zora Jankovic is exhibiting at B-Part Exhibition, the exhibition space located in the B-Part Am Gleisdreieck multifunctional building, constructed by COPRO. The renowned EIGEN + Art Berlin gallery is also repeatedly presenting artworks by the internationally acclaimed artist Jankovic.
