The "Urbane Mitte Am Gleisdreieck" project is located on one of the last undeveloped plots directly at the Gleisdreieck subway station, in close proximity to Potsdamer Platz. With foresight and creative vision, a sustainable district is being created that is flexible and responsive to developments and changing user needs.

Midtown Lofts
The striking eight-story office building was refurbished in collaboration with the architecture firm Barkow Leibinger. Located in a central position in Stuttgart-West, it offers a breathtaking panoramic view over all of Stuttgart from the newly expanded penthouse.
Therbusch’sche Ressource
Subtle on the outside, the building reveals its beauty upon entry. As the headquarters of the renowned Sprüth Magers Gallery, the exhibition halls offer a view of the almost forgotten Krausnick Park. The "Therbusch Resource" serves as a meeting point for art and media enthusiasts – from the upper floors, the view extends all the way to Museum Island.
Imperial Post Office
The historic post office, with its charming Wilhelminian-era façade, has been extensively refurbished and once again serves as an architectural eye-catcher in Berlin-Zehlendorf. Revitalization has brought new uses that invite people to linger and make excellent living possible.
Alt-Moabit 82
When the spirit of the times develops faster than its surroundings, it is important to modernize with a forward-thinking perspective. Key factors include: the location close to the Spree, an unobstructed view of Moabiter Ottoplatz, and the refined mix of residential and business structures in the neighborhood. This ensures that living and working remain contemporary for the future.
Shaping the future together
The park, opened in 2013 and spanning 26 hectares at Gleisdreieck, offers expansive meadows, tree cover, as well as play and sports areas. Thanks to direct access to U1 and U2, several bus lines, and the nearby Yorkstraße S-Bahn station, the area is excellently connected and easily accessible by car.
The location and character of the property present many opportunities, but also challenges. Therefore, the owner prioritised an extensive dialogue early on: in workshop discussions, perspectives from citizens and experts were gathered, evaluated, and translated into clear tasks for further planning.
Competition procedure
After an intensive jury session, COBE Berlin and Ortner & Ortner Baukunst emerged as the winners of the urban planning competition. Their designs unanimously prevailed over five other concepts, impressing the jury and the clients with their quality and vision. The design by Ortner & Ortner now forms the basis for the master plan of a vibrant and sustainable urban quarter at Gleisdreieck.
