In autumn 2007, the refurbishment and modernization of the 19th-century building – with its historic stucco façade and representative entrance – were completed.

Humboldt University of Berlin, the shopping and entertainment centres at Potsdamer Platz, the Mall of Berlin at Leipziger Platz, Friedrichstraße as a shopping and strolling boulevard, and many restaurants are practically "on the doorstep."

Transport connections: only about a 3–4 minute walk to the following stations: Mohrenstraße (U2), Französische Straße (U6), Stadtmitte (U2 & U6), and the Friedrichstraße and Potsdamer Platz S-/U-Bahn stations.
