A Pioneer in the Urban Quarter

In early 2020, a new groundbreaking project was launched as part of the Urban Centre at Gleisdreieck: the transformation of the Parking Garage at Gleisdreieck. The aim was not to operate a traditional parking garage, but to develop a future-oriented place for urban mobility. The project team posed fundamental questions: What will the parking garage of tomorrow look like? How can a space accommodate multiple uses? And how can a parking garage be transformed into a mobility and micro-logistics hub?

Step by step, the existing building was developed into an inner-city mobility hub. In cooperation with sharing and mobility providers, and with direct access to public transport, a central interchange point and an attractive, safe parking experience emerged in the heart of Berlin.

Parking Garage at Gleisdreieck – Smart Mobility Hub with around 800 parking spaces:

  • Family, women, and accessible parking spaces
  • 20 Tesla Superchargers with 250kW
  • 20 additional 11-kW charging points
  • Jelbi Station with e-scooters, bike sharing, e-car sharing, and e-mopeds.

COPRO Immobilienmanagement GmbH is responsible for both the innovative usage concept and the management and tenant administration of the entire property.

Central location in Berlin

The parking garage at Gleisdreieck was developed as part of the 19-part "Quartier Potsdamer Platz," realized under the direction of architects Renzo Piano and Christoph Kohlbecker. Their goal was to create a European-inspired urban quarter that continues to shape the face of Potsdamer Platz to this day. The building, originally known as the "Parkhaus Debis," was constructed in 1998 on the former Potsdamer freight railway yard between the Landwehr Canal and the Gleisdreieck subway station.

Its central location between Mitte, Tempelhof-Schöneberg, and Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg makes the parking garage at Gleisdreieck an ideal starting point for urban explorations. Nearby highlights include Potsdamer Platz, the Sony Center, Mall of Berlin, STATION Berlin, the German Museum of Technology, and the Gleisdreieck Park with popular hotspots like BRLO and B-Part.

The Gleisdreieck subway station (U1, U2, U3) provides quick connections in all directions. Long-term parkers enjoy secure, round-the-clock parking in the heart of Berlin, perfectly complemented by excellent public transport links.
